Ponkans
You might not know what a Ponkan is unless you grew up in Florida. My grandfather "Da" or "Granda" and various family members ran a nursery. Da owned lots of land, many citruus trees, a nursery, and most importantly a fruit stand. It was one of those that sits on the side of the road and random people driving buy would get a citrus urge and pull over to buy some fruit. All the grandkids spent countless hours "helping" in the fruit stand. And by "helping" I mean mostly being distracting and getting into trouble. Gradnda would always pull out a fold up knife he kept in his pocket to peel the oranges for us, and the peel would fall off the orange like a long ribbon. For the life of me I can't do that!! He always cut the oranges in to wedges and the juice would run off our chins and get all over our hands. We’d be sticky all day! Anyway, when I saw a bin of Ponkans in Brazil I couldn't help but snap a picture...what great memories! And who knew that Pomkans are apparently an international sensation!

Florida Thunderstoms
I love the thunderstorms in Florida. I miss them - most every afternoon there is rain. Its not always the huge sky-gets-dark-thunder-crashes-lightening-flashes-rain-drops-the-size-of-marbles kind of storms, but I love it when it is. The last time I was in FLA I snapped these pics of the rainbow just after the storm. You can't tell exactly, but the rainbow stretched across the sky while it was still dark. Amazing!

NYC Adventure pt 3
Some more pics from when we were in DC. The US Open had very cool skywriting we watched while we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. Then we ate at Grimaldi's (the second pic is the line at Grimaldi's - we waited for 1 hour to place the order!) and watched the people on the pier having their wedding pics taken. Good times.

Red = Happy
How is it possible that something as tiny as the color of a cup can make me a little happier? Well, somewhat inexplicably it does. Happy times...the red cups are back at Starbucks! Let the Holidays come!

In other news....I might be, as my friends have occasionally accused, a medium maintenance girl.

(Sorry about the poor photo quality - my phone does lots of things well...taking pictures is apparently not one of them!)

I Passed!!!
Good news people! I passed! Yay! I was a little worried because I have heard that they put the passing scores online and mail you a letter only if you haven't passed, which seemed true from the last time I took the test. I had been checking online like a crazy person, but hadn't seen my update appear online. Then today I got a letter in the mail from Karen Handle, the Secretary of State...dread filled me as I opened the envelop. I was so sad. After reading the letter about 6 times I came to the conclusion that it was actually good news!

For those of you doing the math - that's about an 86%. A score that will be good in any stated I decide to live. Pretty exciting on my end. Now on to the last two steps - the state rules and laws exam and the Oral exam. Phew! This is quite the process!
